City College of New York dominates Yeshiva

The City College of New York women's basketball team dominated Yeshiva 64-40 on Wednesday evening at Baruch College. 

City (6-3) started the game off on a 7-0 run. Yeshiva (0-11) tried to get their offense going as they searched for their first victory. CCNY continued to control the first quarter as they led 15-11 to start the second quarter. 

The Maccabees came back with a strong sense of urgency in the second quarter. City continued their dominate, but while they continued to put points up on the board, Yeshiva was not far behind. Yeshiva outscored the Beavers 15-13, but CCNY still led 28-26 going into halftime. 

Looking for their second straight victory, City came out of the locker room on the war path. They fought hard for control of the game and looked to keep control of the lead. While, Yeshiva fought hard, they were unable to take control in the third quarter. City outscored the Maccabees 16-10 in the third quarter.

While the Beavers dominated for most of the game, it was not until the fourth quarter that they made their statement. City used all the gas in their tanks to put up another victory and continue with a win-streak as they head down to Florida for a tournament. City only allowed four points to be scored by Yeshiva in the fourth quarter, that is the fewest points they have allowed all season in a quarter. CCNY scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to dominate Yeshiva 64-40.

Myrriah McIntosh notched her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Erika Richards led the Beavers with 12 points, while Marissa Olsen added 10. Briana Rhett and Richards dished out four assists a piece. The team capitalized off of Yeshiva's turnovers to turn them into 23 points. 

The women will travel down to West Palm Beach, Florida for the Keiser University Florida Tournament on December 30 and 31. They will first face host, Keiser University on December 30 then on the 31 they will play Emmanuel College.
