William Paterson Women’s Basketball Falls in Overtime at Rutgers-Camden, 65-59

CAMDEN, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (4-5, 2-3 NJAC) fell in overtime at Rutgers-Camden (4-4, 2-3 NJAC), 65-59, Dec. 12.

 

Senior forward Alex Milne (Howell, N.J./Howell) collected 19 points and eight rebounds for the Pioneers, while senior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) had

13 tallies, eight boards and five assists.

 

The Scarlet Raptors carried a 27-22 advantage into the locker room, but WP responded by finishing the third quarter with a 10-4 run to build a 39-33 lead.

 

Rutgers-Camden scored the first nine points of the fourth period (42-39, 7:11), but a Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) layup with 16 seconds left handed the Pioneers a 54-52 edge. Scarlet Raptor freshman guard Ariel Robinson answered with a bucket of her own nine seconds later, knotting the score and forcing overtime. Rutgers-Camden scored the first 10 points to take control of the extra session.

 

Senior guard/forward Kamari Talley paced the Scarlet Raptors with 28 points and 30 rebounds. Robinson and freshman guard Gabby Greene each scored 12 tallies.

 

William Paterson will enjoy a break for final exams, visiting Staten Island Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
