Three players scored 16 points or more points to lead the Baruch College Bearcats to a 79-50 CUNYAC win on Friday night at the Hunter College Sportsplex in upper Manhattan.
The visiting Bearcats led from start to finish against their rival Hawks, which included a comfortable 32-12 advantage with 4:45 left in the second period.
The Hawks battled back and ended that second period with 16-6 run to trail by only 10 points (38-28) at halftime in front of their Homecoming Crowd.
The Bearcats responded by scoring the first six points at the start of the third period to regain the momentum en route to recording the 29-point win to begin the conference schedule on a winning note.
Veronica Ganziled all scorers with a season-high 26 points (6-10 3fg), which included a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line and two steals on the defensive end of the court.
Symone Greenhad a career-high night all-around with 23 points and 16 rebounds
Jacqueline Kennedyhad another big night with a career-high 16 rebounds, tied a career-high with six blocks, and finished with 16 points for her fourth straight double-double. She also contributed three assists and two steals.
Kristen Podlovitsnarrowly missed a double-double with 11 points, nine assists and three steals.
Overall, the Bearcats finished shooting 46 percent (28-for-61) from the field.
Widly Couloute led the Hawks with a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds.
The Bearcats will next be home on Tuesday, December 8, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC contest against the College of Staten Island.
