BUFFALO, N.Y.—Cortland used a 20-5 run to end the fourth quarter to steal a 71-67 victory over host Buffalo State in both team's first SUNYAC conference game of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Britt Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Buffalo State.
  • Jordan Yastremski (Bath/Bath-Haverling) and Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) chipped in 10 points apiece for the Bengals. 
  • The Bengals led for the majority of the close game, holding a 37-33 advantage at halftime and taking a 51-47 edge heading into the fourth.
  • Buffalo State started off the last quarter with a 7-0 run to push the lead to 11.
  • Cortland caught fire, starting their 20-5 run with a little more than seven minutes left in  the game.
  • The Red Dragons got a layup from Taylor Miller with 47 seconds left in the game, taking their first lead since late in the third quarter. 
  • Cortland would seal it, hitting three of their last six free throws, picking up some big offensive rebounds to seal the victory.
  • Buffalo State's defense colleted 14 steals and forced 23 Cortland turnovers.
 

FOR THE FOES

  • Cortland had four scorers in double-digits, with Jennifer Deuel leading the way with 14 points and six rebounds.
  • Miller (14), Stephanie Rice (13), and Caysea Cohen (13) rounded out the Red Dragons' balanced scoring attack.
