NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Eagles struggled from the floor hitting on just 13.8 percent of its shots as the Green Mountain College women's basketball team fell to Colby-Sawyer, 76-21 in each team's first North Atlantic Conference game of the season on Wednesday evening at the Hogan Sports Center.

Colby-Sawyer (2-2, 1-0 NAC) put an end to a two-game losing streak by outrebounding the Eagles by a 65-48 margin and forcing GMC into 28 turnovers. The Chargers bench also came up big with 39 points.

Lexi Iannone hit 5-of-10 from beyond the arc en route to a game-high 18 points in addition to four boards, two assists, two steals and a block. Jessica Shenkel had 14 points, while Amanda Calvo poured in 10.

Green Mountain (0-3, 0-1 NAC) was led by Sherelle Jackson (Greenville, S.C) who had five points. Hayley Loisel (Tolland, Conn.) and Maddy Postnikoff each had four with Postnikoff also hauling in seven rebounds.

The Eagles failed to score in the opening ten minutes of play and only scored two points in the half while the hosts hit for 45 in the half. By the fourth quarter, the Eagles started to generate some offense, but it was too little, too late with the game well in hand.

The Eagles will return to the hardwood on Friday when the team hosts NAC foe Thomas College at 5:30 p.m. The Chargers reconvene on Saturday as the team travels to battle NAC opponent Lyndon State College at 1 p.m.
