POULTNEY, Vt. – Fisher College received a pair of 25-point performances from Christine Briggs and Murphy Carroll en route to a 92-46 victory over Green Mountain College in non-conference women's basketball action on Monday evening at the Eagle Dome.

Fisher (2-2) also received a game-high 11 boards from Briggs for a double-double and nine boards from Carroll in the victory. Aliyanah McIntosh chipped in 18 points, four boards and six dimes, while Madison Carroll contributed 10 points, eight boards and three helpers.

Green Mountain (0-2) received a nice all-around game from Sherelle Jackson (Greenville, S.C.) with 12 points four boards and three assists. Suzanna Moses (Strafford, Vt.) led the team with 13 points while also grabbing six boards. Maddy Postnikoff (Kelowna, B.C.) had eight points and eight boards off the bench, while Mercedes Beck (Beaverlodge Alb.) led the team with nine rebounds in just eight minutes.

The Eagles jumped out to an early 8-2 lead through the first three and a half minutes of play thanks in large part to Jackson's five points.

Just over two minutes later the Falcons had raced back and knotted the score at 10-10 on the back of a Nakeeya Goodman-Boddie Smith jumper. Briggs and Murphy Carroll scored the half's final 13 points for the visitors taking a commanding 23-12 lead into the second quarter.

The Eagles, feeling the pressure to try to answer the Falcons' first quarter run, could not find an answer and struggled offensive in the second stanza scoring only four points to the visitors' 22 which put GMC in a tough position at the break trailing 45-16.

Green Mountain regrouped at the half and played some inspired basketball during the third quarter outscoring the Falcons 22-20 while shooting 46.2 percent from the field.

Unfortunately, the momentum could not be sustained as the Eagles slumped greatly shooting the ball in the last quarter while the Falcons cruised to the finish hitting 27 points to just eight for the hosts.

Green Mountain battled hard on the glass almost keeping pace with Fisher's 60 rebounds by posting 59 of its own. The team did, however, struggle maintaining possession with 37 turnovers to just 19 for the Falcons.  The Falcons managed to maneuver into the paint at a better rate than the Eagles holding a 40-18 points in the paint advantage.

Green Mountain will take a few days at the Thanksgiving break before gearing up for its first conference game of the year at Colby-Sawyer next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Fisher will take a week and then play at Simmons on Thursday at 7 p.m.
