WORCESTER – The sophomore duo of Ama Biney (Worcester, MA) and Stasha Greenalch (Newington, CT) each registered double figure scoring off the bench and Priscilla Dunphy (Barrington, RI) flirted with a double-double as WPI knocked off visiting Rhode Island College 57-43 in a non-conference women's basketball contest played on Saturday evening. 

Clinging to a 34-31 halftime advantage, the Engineer defense did its job in the second half, holding the Anchorwomen to just 12 points after the break.  WPI (3-1) limited the guests to just 5-of-27 (18.5%) shooting after intermission, including 0-of-9 from 3-point land and forced Rhode Island College (22) into nine turnovers.  WPI had mustered just 10 points itself in the third quarter beforeLisa Mendez (Yonkers, MA) sent Harrington Auditorium into a frenzy by nailing a 22-footer to beat the buzzer. 

Biney led the Crimson and Gray offensive attack with 11 points to go along with eight rebounds while Greenalch tossed in 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.  Dunphy was a force on the glass with a career-best 13 boards while scoring nine points and doling out three assists.  WPI, who enjoyed a 19-3 edge in points off turnovers, boasted a 10-0 bulge in fast break points and a 14-4 advantage in second chance points, also received six points from Maura Buckley (Melrose, MA). 

Devin Hill (Danielson, CT) recorded a double-double for the Anchorwomen.  The senior tallied 16 points and corralled a team-high 10 rebounds.  Amy Assad (Millis, MA) and Abbey Burke (East Greenwich, RI) aided the RIC effort off the bench with 12 and seven points respectively.      

Both teams play they final game before the Thanksgiving holiday on Tuesday at 5:30pm.  WPI hosts Nichols while Rhode Island College heads back to Massachusetts to take on Bridgewater State.
