New York, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College freshman center Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball it was announced on Monday evening. The honor comes after Cleare led the Knights in scoring in their season opening win at Alfred.

Cleare shot 8-for-9 from the floor on Saturday in an 86-60 road none-conference win at Alfred. She led the Knights with 17 points, adding eight rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocked shots against the Saxons. She led five Knights in double-figures in the game in 28 minutes of work.

At 1-0 on the season, Mount Saint Mary will return to action on Tuesday when it travels to Hunter. Tip-off with the Hawks is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
