New York, NY --- The #2 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs fell to the top seed Baruch College Bearcats, 60-39, in the final of the 2015 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women's Basketball Championships, presented by Army ROTC, on Friday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of The City College of New York (CCNY).

With the win, Baruch (24-4) captures its eighth straight CUNYAC crown and will receive the CUNYAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Brooklyn drops to 20-7 overall on the year and will now await a possible selection into the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Women's Basketball Championships. The Bulldogs are currently ranked seventh in the Atlantic Region and are likely too far outside of the bubble to receive one of the 20 at-large selections to the NCAA Tournament. Brooklyn will find out its destination on Monday afternoon when bids are announced.

For the Bulldogs, they have now posted three CUNYAC runner-up finishes over the last four seasons.

The first half featured see-saw action, as neither team would lead by more than six points through the first 20 minutes of action. Baruch and Brooklyn would combine for four ties and three lead changes in what was a tight defensive battle.

Senior Nicole Francomano led the Bulldogs with eight first half points, while classmate Megan Campbell added six points.

The second half would feature a much different Baruch team, as the Bearcats shot 55.2% (16-for-29), including going 3-for-7 (42.9%) from three and 9-for-15 (60%) from the free throw line in the second period en route to outscoring the Bulldogs 44-19 over the final 20 minutes to put the game out of reach and cruise to the 60-39 final. The 39 points scored in the game were a season-low for the Bulldogs.

Brooklyn shot just 25.8% (8-for-31) from the field, including 33.3% (2-for-6) from three in the second half.
