LOS ANGELES — Stefanie Young could not be stopped. The Oxy senior threw up shots from beyond the arc from start to finish, scoring 22 points on six 3-pointers to keep the Tigers in the game against a powerful Cal Lutheran team.

But Young could only keep the Tigers alive for so long before the Regals stormed back in the second half to pull ahead of Oxy 75-59 in Oxy's season finale at Rush Gym on Tuesday night.

Young was the first to get the Tigers on the board, scoring on a shot in the paint 2 minutes into the game. Young continued to roll, scoring 10 points in the half.

It was a strong finish for Young who, along with Ashton Reid, was honored on the team's Senior Night. Reid finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists.

"It was awesome to see Stef and Ashton finish the way they did," said Oxy head coach Anahit Aladzhanyan. "Stef has fought tenaciously through injuries throughout her career and has exemplified heart and hard work to her teammates."

The duo looked unstoppable in the first 10 minutes of action, sinking shots and grabbing rebounds, leading Oxy to a 33-29 lead of the second-place Regals.

"Ashton is one our best leaders," Aladzhanyan continued. "We count on her on both ends of the court and she has always been one of our most consistent players, so it's not surprising when she has a night like tonight."

Young and Reid started the second half just like they did in the first with Young sinking a three on an assist from Reid.

The Regals came storming back to make six 3-pointers of their own in the second half to take the lead with 14:38 left in the game. The Tigers attempted a come back and came within five points with just under 6 minutes remaining following a Tiffany Kho free throw. But that would be as close as close as the Tigers would get as Cal Lutheran pulled away down the stretch.

Kho finished with eight points, Dru Ishibashi added another eight and Triana Anderson contributed six points for Oxy.
