GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- A go-ahead three pointer with just over five minutes to play enabled third-seeded Gwynedd Mercy to outlast sixth-seeded Rosemont 71-60, in a first-round game of the 2015 CSAC Tournament Monday night at the Griffin Complex.

The Griffins (17-9) advance to the semifinal round where they'll play at second-seeded Immaculata on Wednesday night.

Five Griffins reached double figures with three recording double-doubles. Junior Olivia Bradford and sophomore Charlotte Kucowski each and 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Seniors Natasha Matthews added 12 points, 10 boards, and four blocks and Kelsey Yori totaled 13 points and six assists. Freshman Dee Terry, the newly named 2014-15 CSAC Rookie of the Year, came off the bench to chip in 10 points.

Shooting woes in the first half looked to sink the Griffin ships, as the team was just 9-of-33 from the floor, including a 1-for-10 effort from behind the arc. After a bucket from Bradford to give GM a 19-18 lead with 8:14 to go before the half, Gwynedd would go without another field goal the rest of the stanza. GM was able to stay within reach though, with key free throws and defensive rebounding. The Raven's Jasmyn Parker would hit a corner jumper as the buzzer sounded to put GM in a 31-25 halftime deficit.

The start of the second half didn't start out as planned either, as the Rosemont lead grew to nine early in the frame. Terry's three-point play would pull the Griffins within one (40-39). Minutes later at the 11:51 mark, a similar drive to the hoop and foul put Gwynedd ahead for the first time since midway in the first (41-40).

A total of nine lead changes took place in the final 20 minutes. Terry would hit from downtown for a 48-47 lead with 6:46 to go.

Yori would deliver the nail in the coffin as her trifecta with 5:21 remaining gave Gwynedd the lead (53-51) for good. GM was able to hit 7-of-8 from the line in the final minute to help seal up the win.

The Griffins would shoot 46% in the second and make 16-of-20 attempts at the charity stripe. 22 of the 50 total rebounds were on the offensive side. GM would hold that rebound edge, 50-33.

Liz Coyne totaled 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Ravens (13-13) while Kierra Smith added 12 and Nymira Melson contributed 10 points and six assists. Rosemont went 37% from the field for the game (22-of-58), making one of seven attempts from downtown and 15-of-23 chances at the free throw line.

Bradford was 12-of-15 at the line including a 10-for-12 effort in the second half alone.  As a team, it was the seventh game this season that GM has gone to the line 30 or more times.

In the other first-round game, #5 Keystone was able to knock off #4 Marywood, 62-58. The Giants will head to top-seeded Cabrini in the other semifinal matchup on Wednesday.
