Brooklyn, NY --- Senior forward Megan Campbell recorded her 10th double-double of the season to help lead her #2 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs to a 68-54 win over #7 seeded York College in the quarterfinals round of the 2015 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women's Basketball Championships, presented by Army ROTC, on Saturday afternoon at the West Quad Center.

With the win, BC improves to 19-6 overall on the season and advances to the semifinals round of the conference championships on Tuesday, February 24th at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of The City College of New York (CCNY). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm. The Bulldogs will take on the #3 seeded Dolphins of the College of Staten Island. CSI defeated #6 seeded John Jay, 65-55, in their quarterfinals match this afternoon.

York ends the season with a 7-18 overall record.

Campbell, a 2015 CUNYAC First Team All-Star, led all scorers with 21 points, to go with 12 rebounds. For her efforts, the Tobyhanna, PA native would earn Player of the Game honors. Classmate guard/forward Vanessa D'Ambrosi, as 2015 CUNYAC Second Team All-Star, also registered a double-double with 17 points, doing most of her damage from beyond the arc converting five three-pointers, while pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds. Another 2015 CUNYAC Second Team All-Star selection, senior guard Nicole Francomano, the active careers assists leader in NCAA Division III, dished out a game-high eight assists, to go with six points, four steals and four rebounds.

Seniors Asia Foster (seven points) and Nacirema Mann (six points) also made solid contributions.

The Cardinals had three players in double figures, led by Samantha Bond's 14 points. Angelica Ruggiano and Tamika Taylor finished with 11 points apiece. Stayce Kay Muirhead pulled down 10 rebounds, to go with seven points.

For the game, BC shot 44.3% (27-for-61) from the field, including 31.6% (6-for-19) from three. The Bulldogs also shot 61.5% (8-for-13) from the line. Second chance scoring opportunities played a key role in the Brooklyn win, as the home team dominated the glass, 53-38, which led to a 17-8 advantage in second chance points for the Bulldogs.

York was held to 28.4% (19-for-67) shooting from the field, including 27.8% (5-for-18) from beyond the arc. The Cardinals also struggled from the charity stripe, shooting 57.9% (11-for-19) from the free throw line.

After the visitors struck first with a three-pointer from Ruggiano for the games first points, Brooklyn rattled off a 25-7 run to take a 15-point lead, 25-10, at the 11:04 mark of the first half. The Bulldogs would lead by double figures the rest of the way as Brooklyn would cruise to its 68-54 victory to seal BC's fifth straight appearance in the conference semifinals round.

Brooklyn will look to make its third conference finals appearance in four years, as the Bulldogs will look to defeat the Dolphins for a third time after sweeping the regular season series. BC defeated CSI, 66-59, on January 3rd in Staten Island and again, 69-52, on January 30th at West Quad.
