Alfred University women's basketball drops home finale to Fisher

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team lost, 82-55, to visiting St. John Fisher in the Saxons' 2014-15 home finale, Tuesday evening in the Galanis Family Arena.
 
With the loss, AU falls to 6-17 overall and 2-12 in Empire 8 play, while Fisher improves to 18-5 (11-3 Empire 8).
 
AU was led by sophomore forward Amanda Off (South New Berlin, NY/Unadilla) with 20 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Senior guard Emilea Harrison (Dansville, NY/Dansville) added 12 points and four rebounds; sophomore guard Maddi Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) had six points and four rebounds; and freshman forward Taylor Kelley (Andover, NY/Andover) had five blocks and five boards.
 
Portia Velasco had 20 points, five rebounds and four steals to pace Fisher. Sydney Bloomstein had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Mary Kate Cusack had 17 points and three steals.
 
AU is in action next on Friday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. at Utica.
