BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior forward Kelly Coleman (Portland, Conn.) and junior guard Alanna Vose (Cushing, Maine) combined for 35 points to power the University of New England to a 69-50 Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball win over Curry College Tuesday evening (Feb. 17) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The victory gives the Nor'easters (20-4, 16-1 CCC) their seventh consecutive 20-win season under the direction of eighth-year head coach Anthony Ewing, while also clinching the top seed for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. UNE has now won 11 straight meetings with the Colonels (14-10, 11-6) and is now 21-3 in the all-time series.

Vose scored 11 of her game-best 18 points in the first half. She finished with four 3-pointers and five assists. Coleman tallied 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the floor and 5-for-5 accuracy at the free throw line. Four other players scored six points apiece for the Nor'easters.

Senior guard Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) was the lone Curry player in double figures with 14 points. She made all six of her free throw attempts. First-year Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.) came off the bench to score eight points and grab a game-high eight rebounds.

After the teams played to a 13-13 tie over the opening 6:20, UNE scored 15 of the next 17 points to establish a 28-15 advantage. Vose hit three treys and scored 11 points during the spurt, which culminated with her three-ball at the 5:46 mark.

The Nor'easters took a 32-21 advantage into intermission after limiting the Colonels to 27.3 percent (6 of 22) shooting and forcing 11 Curry turnovers.

Big Blue would maintain a double-digit lead the entire second frame, with its largest cushion (20 at 69-49) coming with just over a minute remaining.

One of just two NCAA III teams in New England with a streak of 20-win seasons of seven more, the Nor'easters trail only Amherst College (8) in that department. UNE has now been victorious in 43 consecutive CCC regular-season home contests and is a perfect 27-0 in regular-season conference games at the Harold Alfond Forum since the facility opened in 2012.

The Nor'easters will conclude their regular season Saturday when they head to Rhode Island to face second-place Roger Williams University in a game set to tip-off at 1 p.m. UNE, which holds a one-game advantage over the Hawks, has the tie-breaker over RWU should the two teams finish deadlocked in the regular-season standings.

Curry finishes its regular season Saturday at home versus Salve Regina University (1 p.m.).
