ELMHURST, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2015) –
Dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season, the North Central College women's basketball team suffered another slow start Saturday afternoon and never regained its stride, falling 91-64 at Elmhurst College.

After the Cardinals scored the game's first basket, Elmhurst went on a 17-0 run over the next four minutes as North Central was 0-for-8 during that span while turning the ball over four times.

The 23rd-ranked Cardinals (20-4, 9-4 CCIW) trailed by double-digits the rest of the way and never found its stride, as the Bluejays (15-9, 8-5 CCIW) gradually increased its lead over the remainder of the first half to take a 46-23 lead into halftime.

The second half was much of the same struggles for the Cardinal offense, finishing just 6-of-31 from three-point range, a season low, while the Bluejays shot 60 percent from long range on 6-of-10 shooting and led by as many as 32 points down the stretch.

The two teams combined for 59 turnovers on the evening, with the Bluejays holding a 29-18 advantage in points off turnovers.

Tess Godhardt as the lone Cardinal to finish in double-figures with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field.  Combined with her two years playing at Elmhurst, Godhardt eclipsed the 1,000-career point plateau against her former team.

Four Bluejays finished in double-digits, paced by Fiona McMahon's 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Claire Monroe also added 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range.  Hannah Lipman also finished with a double-double, scoring 17 while grabbing 11 rebounds off the bench.

North Central wraps up the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting North Park University on Senior Night with tip-off slated for 5 p.m.
