Brittany Berry Equals 3-Point Record, Hope Women's Basketball Wins At Kalamazoo

Senior Brittany Berry of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), tied a Hope College women's basketball record for 3-pointers in a season during a 65-52 win at Kalamazoo on Wednesday.

Berry made three 3-pointers en route to 12 points. She upped her season total to 66 made in 137 attempts.

Berry matched Nicki Mannes, who sank 66 in 195 attempts during the 1993-94 season.

The Flying Dutch improved to 20-2 overall as they clinched home-court advantage for the semifinals of the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday, February 25. Hope is 12-1 in league play – one game behind unbeaten Calvin.

It is the Flying Dutch's 17th consecutive 20-win season.

Senior Rebekah Llorens of Grayslake, Illinois (Grayslake Central HS), led Hope with 15 points.

Juniors Autumn Anderson of Wayland, Michigan (Wayland HS), and Maura McAfee of Midland, Michigan (Midland HS), chipped in 12 points apiece against Kalamazoo (14-8, 9-5 MIAA).

The Flying Dutch took the lead for good when they closed the final 4:49 of the first half on a 13-0 run for a 37-28 halftime lead.

Hope is ranked 11th in this week's USA Today Sports coaches poll and 13th in the D3hoops.com rankings.

The Flying Dutch return to action on Saturday, February 14, when they host Olivet for Senior Day. Tipoff is 3 p.m.
