(GREENVILLE, Pa.) –Junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) scored a game-high 28 points in 18 minutes of action today (Saturday, February 7, 2015) to lead the second-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 100-33 win over Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Beeghly Gymnasium in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
With the win, the Saints improve to 21-0 overall and 14-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 5-15 overall and 4-9 in the PAC.
Thomas More scored 31 points off 19 Thiel turnovers and shot 45.8 percent (22-of-48) from the field as it built a 56-12 halftime lead.
The Saints continued to dominate in the second half as they shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the field as they cruised to the 100-33 victory.
For the game, Thomas More out-scored Thiel 40-14 in the paint and 43-2 off turnovers.
Joining Moss in double-figure scoring was junior guard Olivia Huber (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 12 points and freshman forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) and sophomore guard Hannah Devine (Carrollton, Ky./Carroll County) with 10 points each.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday (February 11) when they close out their four-game PAC road trip as they travel to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play Geneva College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Metheny Fieldhouse. The Saints might enter the game as the No. 1 team in the nation as current No. 1, FDU-Florham suffered its first loss of the season today.
