ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team extended its win streak to 10 games with tonight's wire to wire 68-47 win at Rosemont College. The victory improves the club to 16-3 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
Three players scored in double figures for the Blue and White, led by seniors Amber Keys and Megan Decker. Keys led the way with 20 points, on an efficient 9-15 shooting, and grabbed nine rebounds.
Decker continued to stuff the stat sheet, as the senior recorded her third consecutive double-double, with 11 points and a career high 15 boards, to go with four assists, two blocked shots and two steals.
Junior Kristina Startare matched Decker with 11 points and matched a career high with nine boards.
The Cavaliers wasted little time establishing their dominance, as they scored the game's first nine points. The Blue and White held Rosemont to just 3-26 shooting in the first half, building a 28-6 lead after 20 minutes.
Though the Ravens found their shooting touch in the second half, the Cavaliers never allowed them to come within 19 points after the break.
Cabrini's 59 rebounds were just one off its season high, with a season high 25 boards coming on the offensive glass. The Cavaliers built a +20 rebound margin on the Ravens and outscored them 32-20 in the paint.
Sophomore Renee Oliver matched a career high with eight points off the bench, while junior Meghan Martin added six points, five rebounds and three assists for the Cavaliers.
Liz Coyne posted a double-double for Rosemont (7-11, 3-5 CSAC), pairing 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Dominique Sellers totaled 12 points.
The Blue and White will return to Nerney Field House on Saturday, as it hosts it annual Alumni Day, featuring a game against Baptist Bible College (1-14, 1-8 CSAC). The day begins with the yearly Alumni Game slated for 11 a.m., with the ladies game to tip at 2 p.m.
