(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Freshman forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) scored a career-high-tying 19 points tonight (Wednesday, January 28, 2015) to lead the second-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to an 82-37 win over Grove City College, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 18-0 overall and 11-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 7-11 overall and 5-6 in the PAC.

The Saints used 48.6 percent shooting from the field (17-of-35) in the first half to build a 50-20 halftime lead.

Thomas More opened the second half on a 10-0 lead to increase the lead to 60-20 with 14:05 to play in the game when junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) made a jumper.  Grove City answered with a 10-4 run capped by a Jackie Stewart jumper to cut the lead to 64-30 with 7:51 to play in the game.  That would be as close as Grove City would come as the Saints closed out the game on an 18-7 run to cruise to the 82-37 victory.

Thomas More out-scored Grove City 42-14 in the paint and 23-6 off turnovers.  As a team, the Saints shot 95.2 percent from the free-throw line (20-of-21).

Joining Kiernan in double-figure scoring was senior guard Sydni Wainscott (Erlanger, Ky./Simon Kenton) with 12 points and junior forward Alexa Santamaria (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with 10 points.  Santamaria led the team on the boards with seven rebounds, while Moss and junior guard Olivia Huber (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led the team in assists with five each.  Huber led the team in steals with four, while Wainscott recorded three.

The Saints begin a four-game road trip on Saturday (January 31) when they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to play Westminster College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. inside Buzz Ridle Gymnasium.
