New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team led from the opening tip until the final horn on Wednesday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium, as the Bulldogs cruised past the Beavers of The City College of New York (CCNY) in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) action.

With the win, Brooklyn improves to 11-5 overall on the season and 8-1 in the CUNYAC; while CCNY drops to 4-13 overall on the year and 2-7 in conference play. The victory also gives the Bulldogs the regular season sweep over the Beavers, as BC defeated City College, 66-36, earlier this season back on November 25th at the West Quad Center.

Senior Nicole Francomano scored the first six points of the game to give the visitors a 6-0 advantage at the 16:13 mark of the first half. The stifling Brooklyn defense forced CCNY into 19 turnovers in the opening half, which led to 17 points for the Bulldogs and helped power BC to a 31-15 halftime advantage.

Despite shooting 52% (13-for-25) in the second half, the Beavers would be unable to recover from its intermission deficit as Brooklyn's lead would not be threatened in the second half en route to the 62-47 win.

Senior Megan Campbell recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 16 points and a career-high 21 rebounds. Francomano finished with 10 points, seven assists, six steals and five rebounds, while freshman Chrissy Heyer added 15 points coming off the bench. Senior Vanessa D'Ambrosi had a solid all around game chipping in with eight points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

The Beavers were led by Tiara Brown (18 points and 12 rebounds) and Robin Daley (11 points and 10 rebounds), who each finished the game with a double-double.

For the game, BC shot 31.1% (28-for-90) from the field and just 12.5% (3-for-24) from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs went to the line just six times, converting three attempts (50%).

CCNY shot 38.3% (18-for-47) from the field and 57.9% (11-for-19) from the charity stripe.

BC also out-rebounded CCNY 54-43.

Brooklyn returns to action this Friday, January 23rd, as the Bulldogs will welcome the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice to the West Quad Center for a CUNYAC matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm. Brooklyn will look for another conference sweep, as the Bulldogs defeated the Bloodhounds, 74-53, back on December 6th.
