Salem, Mass. -- Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, MA) recorded a double-double of20 points and 10 rebounds as the Rams of Framingham State sailed past their Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) opponent, the Vikings of Salem State 67-43 Tuesday night at the Twohig Gymnasium. The Rams improve to 11-4 on the season and 3-2 in MASCAC play while the Vikings slip to an overall record of 2-12 and and 0-4 in conference play.

Sarah Palace (Auburn, MA) led the Rams' offense in the opening minutes as Framingham jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Savanah Spinney (Everett, MA) put Salem State on the scoreboard as she finished a fast break layup after a Saran Kaba (Dorchester, MA) steal. However, Rackliffe, who anchored Framingham State's offense with 10 first-half points and five rebounds, proved difficult to defend as the Vikings struggled to match up against the six-footer. Palace sparked a 10-0 run with a made three-pointer from the corner that put the Rams atop 28-6 with just under seven minutes to play. Salem State battled back, cutting the deficit to 11 with 3:20 left, but would enter the half down 39-20, the largest deficit for the Vikings' in the period.

Sarah Callahan (Pelham, NH) knocked down a three-pointer to start a 7-0 Salem State skein to open the second that brought the Vikings to within 12 points. The Vikings had a rough night of shooting as they shot just 23.1% from the field and 16.7% from beyond the arc. Salem State's Rachael Carter (Merrimack, NH) was held in check for most of the night, but still managed to score 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Framingham State's shooters opened up the scoring as the Rams answered with an 11-0 run of their own that pushed the lead back to 20 points, 54-34 with 10:45 remaining. Minutes later, Lauren Donahue (Attleboro, MA) gave Framingham State their largest lead of the night, a 25-point margin after two made free throws. The Rams maintained a large margin for the remainder of the contest as they cruised to a 67-43 victory.

Palace ended the game with 13 points and three assists.

The Vikings play again on January 22nd when they host the Raiders of Rivier College at 7:00 p.m. Framingham State will travel on January 22nd to take on the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m. as well.
