Millikin Women's Basketball Scores Big Road Win

The Millikin women's basketball team knocked off CCIW leader Cathage College 75-61 on January 17 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Millikin improves to 12-4, 3-2 while Carthage goes to 11-5, 4-1.
    After Carthage scored the opening basket, Millikin's Alyssa Saklak hit two straight buckets to give the Big Blue a lead it would never relinquish.  Millikin built a 37-24 advantage at halftime and controlled the second half building its largest lead of 18 points at 58-40 with seven minutes left top play.
    Millikin shot 44 percent from the field and held Carthage at 36 percent.  Millikin out rebounded the Lady Reds 43-30.
    The Big Blue had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures led by Saklak with 22 points and a team high 10 rebounds.  Kelsey Going had 13 points and eight rebounds.  Holly Haskins had 12 points and Devin Curry added 10.  Hannah Millington had eight points and eight rebounds.
    Erin Thomas led Carthage with 12 points.  Kasey Kleiner added 11 points and Erin Quinn scored 10.
    Millikin will travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday, January 21 at 7 p.m.
