Titans win track meet over Stout, take 94-71 win over Blue Devils

OSHKOSH (January 14, 2015) - UW-Oshkosh ran out to a 52-35 halftime lead and raced off to a 94-71 over UW-Stout Wednesday at Kolf Sports Center.

The 17th ranked Titans' (13-2, 5-1 WIAC) set a new season-high with their 52 point, first half effort, shooting 48.6 percent in the first half (18-37) from the floor and 44.4 percent (4-9) from 3-point range. Oshkosh aided their own cause by downing 12-of-16 shots from the charity stripe.

The Blue Devils (4-11, 2-4 WIAC) matched their second highest of the season first half point total with the 35 points. Stout hit 39.3 percent (11-28) from the floor, but came up cold on all seven 3-point attempts. Stout was 13-of-13 from the free throw line in the first half. Stout would go on to make 14-of-16 free throws, while the Titans would finish the night hitting 21-of-25 from the line.

Stout's Jenna Goldsmith (So, St. Anthony, Minn) and Kyleigh Hebert (Jr, Spencer) both finished with 17 points. Goldsmith matched a career scoring mark and also collected nine rebounds in the contest.

The Titan's Taylor Schmidt led all scorers with 24 points. Schmidt drained all eight of her free throw attempt, while Alex Richard made 7-of-8 and finished the night with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Alicia Tollefson finsihed with 17 points, draining 5-of-6 3-point attempts. Marissa Selner pulled down 12 rebounds, as the Titans held a 44-30 advantage off the backboard.

Stout will be at UW-Superior, Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m., then return home Wednesday, Jan. 21 to host UW-River Falls at 7p.m.
