On Wednesday night, the Calvin women's basketball team hosted the Adrian College Bulldogs in its fourth conference game of the season. The Knights entered the game 10-0 overall and 3-0 in the MIAA and remained undefeated, beating Adrian 101-73.

In the first half, Calvin took the lead early and didn't give it up for the remainder of the contest. The Knights only turned the ball over twice and shot fifty percent (9-18) from three-point range. Abby Springer drained a three in the final seconds of the half, and Calvin headed into the break with a thirty-five-point lead (60-25).

Although the Bulldogs outscored Calvin 48-41 in the second half, they were not able to make up for the large first half deficit. For the game, the Knights shot 52.8% from the floor and 48.1% from three-point range.

Anna Timmer led the Knights in scoring with 16 points and also snagged five rebounds. Kayla Engelhard followed, adding 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Breanna Verkaik and Jeana Sybesma also chipped in thirteen points apiece, while Hannah Acre scored 11 and dished out four assists. Sybesma's 13-point effort was a new career-high

Calvin's bench contributed 51 points to the victory.

"I thought we had an excellent first half," said Calvin head women's basketball coach John Ross. "Our ball movement was very good and we got after it on defense. We will need to keep the same type of intensity going on Saturday."

On Saturday, the Knights will travel to Alma to take on the Scots (6-8 overall, 1-4 MIAA). Tip-off is at 5:00 p.m.
