EAU CLAIRE (January 7, 2015) - UW-Stout's Brea Boomer (Sr,Grand Portage, Minn) collected her third career double-double, but UW-Eau Claire ran past the Blue Devils, 66-49, at Zorn Arena Wednesday.
Boomer finished the night with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and added three assists to pace the Blue Devils. Boomer had 10 points and seven rebounds at halftime, as Stout (4-9, 2-2 WIAC) trailed 34-23 at the break.
The Blugolds' Tennie Lichtfuss and Courtney Lewis spelled double trouble for the Blue Devils. Lichtfuss connected on 11-of-14 from the floor and finished with 27 poitns. Lewis had her own double-double, dropping in 17 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
The Blue Devils shot 34.0 percent (18-53) from the floor and 16.7 percent (2-12) from beyond the arc. The Blugolds (8-6, 3-2 WIAC) shot 44.6 percent (25-56) from the floor and shot 52 percent (13-25) in the first half. They connected on 5-of-16 3-pointers.
Stout returns to Johnson Fieldhouse, Saturday, Jan. 10 to host UW-Whitewater at 3 p.m.
