Senior Spencer Robles tied a career-high as Wilmington put four players in double figures, and the Fightin' Quakers recorded the 82-71 non-conference victory over Earlham Tuesday at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court. The victory snapped Wilmington's three-game losing streak.

Robles (Clyde, OH/Clyde) hit five three-pointers and finished with 19 points in 27 minutes to lead Wilmington. Sophomore Brittaney Jefferson (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne) added 16 points as WC's two-guard position combined for 35 of the team's 82 points.

Sophomore Mary Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton-Massie) added 11 points and six rebounds, while senior Courtney Tucker (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds. Freshman Emily Smith (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) pulled down a team-high seven boards to go along with nine points.

Wilmington's reserves were in the middle of the game-changing 26-8 run that ended the first half. Four different backups tallied 16 of the 26 points.

"In the very beginning, I thought we were just missing shots," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "As the game wore on and we got more comfortable, we got better. We got a couple players in foul trouble in the first half, and we went deep into our bench, and really built our lead with those players out there."

Additionally, 12 of the 26 points came as Wilmington shredded the EC press. Overall, the Fightin' Quakers tallied 30 fast-break points.

"If we attack the press the way we should, somebody is going to be open," said Scheve. "In the first half, it was Spencer. We were attacking and we were able to get it to the open player. We had numbers every time we attacked. It was a matter of finding who they left open.

"I was real happy with how we attacked their pressure in the first half," Scheve continued. "The second half was a replay of the first half. We came out sluggish and weren't very efficient with what we were doing. As the half went on, I thought we got better. Overall, after the last couple of weeks it was a good turn around and hopefully a good start to the New Year."

Earlham scored the first five points of the second half, and every time the Fightin' Quakers threatened to pull away, EC brought the game closer. Finally, Wilmington clamped down on the defensive end, and delivered the knockout blow with a 14-2 run.
