#16 DePauw Cruises to 77-48 NCAC Win at Oberlin

Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw shot 53 percent from the floor and committed just five turnovers on the way to a 77-48 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Oberlin. The Tigers, ranked 14th in the latest Division III coaches' poll and 16th by D3hoops.com, improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference while Oberlin dropped to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC.

DePauw scored 12 straight points during a first-half stretch to push a three-point lead to 15 at 21-6. The Yeomen closed to within 10, but the Tigers scored the next eight. DePauw took a 37-16 lead to the intermission.

Savannah Trees and Lauren Abendroth opened the second half with layups before Trees knocked in a three to extend the DePauw lead to 44-16. The Tigers' largest lead was 37 at 59-22.

The Tigers hit 32-60 from the field, while Oberlin connected on 19-46 for 41.3 percent. Oberlin held a 31-26 advantage on the boards.

Trees led the Tigers with 22 points after hitting 10-13 from the field.Emma Ondik added 14 points and led DePauw with three assists, whileHannah Gardner recorded four steals. Abby Keller and Trees each hauled down four rebounds.

Anna Moore scored 15 off the bench for Oberlin, while Christina Marquette added 10 and a game-high seven rebounds.

DePauw returns to action on December 29, when it hosts Wisconsin-Stout at 2 p.m. The game is part of the three-team Amy Hasbrook Classic which also includes a December 28 matchup between Millsaps and Wisconsin-Stout at 3 p.m. and a December 30 contest between Millsaps and DePauw at 3 p.m.
