BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team fell to Brooklyn College, 67-44, in CUNY Athletic Conference action, on Friday evening.

Junior forward Karrin Walker (New York, N.Y./Richard R. Green) led the way for the Lightning (5-3, 3-1 CUNYAC) with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

With Lehman trailing by 14 with 11:21 left to play in the first half, Walker nailed a three-point basket to narrow Brooklyn's (5-3, 4-0 CUNYAC) lead to 20-9. That would be the beginning of a 12-3 run for Lehman, capped off by a Walker layup, to pull the Lightning within five, with 4:33 remaining. Both teams went into the half with the Bulldogs hanging on to a 29-22 lead.

In the middle stages of the second half, Brooklyn regained momentum by going on a 10-2 run, in a span of 5:12, to jump out to a 48-32 lead, with 8:47 remaining, to put the game out of reach for the Lightning.

For the game, junior forward Yarmese Jones (Astoria, N.Y./William C. Bryant) scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Amely Del Rosario (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) produced seven points, dished out three assists, blocked three shots, and forced three steals.

Lehman will return to the friendly confines of the APEX Main Gym on Tuesday, for a non-conference game against St. Joseph's College of Long Island, at 6:00 p.m.
