Alyssa Krajco registered her fourth double-double of the season as the UW-Platteville used a 18-2 run to surge past Luther, 77-59, on Bo Ryan Court on Tuesday.
Krajco led all scorers with 28 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. She shot 10-18 from the field and made 7-8 from the free throw line. Stacy Clark recorded 16 points and seven boards, while Rachel Cropp added seven points and seven assists. Taylor Lorbiecki tallied seven points of her own and dished out five assists without a turnover in 29 minutes of action.
Pioneers ended the first half on 14-2 run, taking a 44-32 in to the half.
UW-Platteville continued its run into the second half, scoring the first six points of the half, 50-32, and held the Norse scoreless for a total of five minutes that spanned over both halves.
The Pioneers never allowed their lead to get to single digits, and limited the Norse to just five points in the final six minutes of the game, sealing the 18-point victory. UW-Platteville held Luther to under 25 percent shooting in the second half.
Luther, who forces 30 turnovers per game, made UW-Platteville turn the ball over 20 times, but the Pioneers kept the damage to a minimum by only allowing the Norse to score 13 points of their turnovers.
UW-Platteville controlled the paint by out rebounding Luther 52-37 and recording a 36-22 points in the paint advantage.
The Pioneers will take the weekend off to get ready for conference play when they host UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
