Baruch Runs Past Rival Hunter (75-50)

The Baruch College Bearcats recorded a convincing 75-50 victory over rival Hunter College Hawks in a CUNYAC contest played on Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex in New York City.

With the exception of a three by Hunter to start the game, the visiting Bearcats controlled play and finished the first half with a 12-3 run for a 31-17 halftime lead. The defense limited the Hawks to four field goals in the opening 20 minutes.

During the second half, the Bearcats shot 49 percent (16-for-33) and ran away from the Hawks by managing to lead by as many as 33 points late in the game.


Francess Henryscored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the second half to go along with six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Veronica Ganziscored 18 points by shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. She also contributed four assists.

Sheridan Taylornotched a double-double for the fourth time in five games this season with 13 points, 13 rebounds and two steals. Symone Greenhad eight points and four rebounds off the bench.

Baruch will hit the road again next Tuesday, December 9, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC contest at the College of Staten Island Dolphins.
