ALFRED, NY—The Alfred University women's basketball teams' win streak was snapped by Fredonia State in a 95-54 game Tuesday evening.

A second half surge helped the Blue Devils of Fredonia to top the Saxons, 95-54.  Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) led the Saxons with 15 points, three rebounds, and two blocks.

The first half was a tight game, with the Saxons constantly nipping at the heels of the Blue Devils, but Fredonia continued to hit the shot to keep them ahead.  The largest lead the Blue Devils held in the first period was 13, but the Saxons quickly erased that margin to bring the game with four points to close the half.

Midway through the second half Fredonia gained a substantial lead on a 17-3 eight minute run, putting them up 67-47.  With tight perimeter defense the Saxons were unable to find a way to claw their way back into the game and the Blue Devils pulled away for the win, 95-54.

The Saxons (2-4, E8 0-0) look to bounce back Friday Dec. 5th when they take on Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.
