Inferno Held To Season Low In Loss To Warriors

MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College was held to its season low point total as host Wisconsin Lutheran College topped the Inferno 85-36 Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Complex.

The Warriors (1-2, 1-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) picked up their first win of the season, while the Inferno (1-4, 0-2 NACC) lost its third-straight contest.

Alverno fell behind early in the contest, 7-0, before K.D. Jones put the visitors' on the board with a 3-point basket. WLC scored the next 17 points before a Mollie Mikyska layup made the score 24-5. The Warriors would close the half on a 14-8 run and didn't let up in the second half.

Mikyska and Katelyn Bartlett scored 10 points apiece for the Inferno, while Bartlett led the team with seven rebounds as Alverno was just edged on the glass, 42-40.

Kristen Schulz led the defending NACC champion Warriors with game-highs of 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Today marked the fifth-straight road game to open Alverno's season, and will play two more road games next week. The Inferno heads to Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
