Blue Devils turn up the steam and run down St. Scholastica

MENOMONIE (November 29, 2014) - UW-Stout had five players score in double digits as the Blue Devils ran away from St. Scholastica, 76-43, in UW-Stout Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

Kyleigh Hebert (Jr, Spencer) scored 13 to lead Stout (2-4). Sarah Schoch (So, Chippewa Falls) had 11, and Brea Boomer (Sr, Grand Portage,  Minn), Katelynne Folkers (Sr, Fall Creek) and Jenna Goldsmith (So, St. Anthony, Minn) each scored 10 points.

Danica Schelbach scored 10 points for the Saints (0-3). Hebert scored 11 points in the first half. Goldsmith scored eight points and had four rebounds in the first 4:30 of the second half.

Stout trailed intially in the game, 6-0, but then went off on a 13-2 run and held a double digit lead throughout the rest of the game, building up to a 43-22 halftime lead and held as much as a 28 point lead early in the second half. Stout was able to play their entire bench.

Stout will meet the University of Dubuque in the championship game of the tournament, Sunday, Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. Dubuque defeated previously undefeated Gustavus Adolphus, 78-76.
