ALLENTOWN, Penn – The Lehman College women's basketball team earned their first victory of the season, by knocking off Morrisville State, 77-65, in the first round of the Hilton Garden Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Lightning will face Penn State Abington in the Championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Junior guard Jennifer Navarro (Jamaica, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) led the way on offense for the Lightning (1-2) with 26 points and connected on five shots from beyond the arc. Classmate Karrin Walker (New York, N.Y./Richard R. Green) tallied a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Junior forward Yarmese Jones (Astoria, N.Y./William C. Bryant) also had a double-double by scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 boards. Classmate Amani Lightbourne (Elmsford, N.Y./Alexander Hamilton) added 12 points and junior forward Luisayra Madrigal (Bronx, N.Y./Monsignor Scanlan) tallied nine rebounds.
