ARLINGTON, Va. -- Kelecia Harris and Kadijah Bishop each posted a double-double, but Marymount used a late run to defeat the Albright women's basketball team 65-60 at the Pablo Coto Tipoff Tournament on Saturday.
Harris finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Bishop added 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Albright in its season opener. Jessica Venturelli added 13 points and Emily O'Donnell finished with 10 points as Albright placed four players in double figures in scoring.
A free throw by Venturelli gave Albright a 53-44 lead with 6:45 to play in the game before the Saints rallied.
Marymount used a 10-0 run to take a 54-53 lead capped by a jumper from Leah Hurst with 4:31 remaining in the game.
Albright regained the lead when Venturelli scored inside off of a feed from O'Donnell which gave the Lions a 55-54 lead with 4:19 to play in the second half.
Dominique Dickens gave Marymount the lead for good at 57-55 when she converted a three-point play with 4:04 left in the contest.
Marymount extended the lead to 60-55 before Venturelli drained a three-pointer with 49 seconds to play that cut the lead to 60-58.
Kievanna Lacey made four straight free throws to push the lead to 64-58 with 33 seconds remaining before Jane Joyce connected on a jumper for the Lions with 27 seconds to play.
The Lions forced a turnover on the Saints next possession, but missed a three-point attempt with 20 seconds to play.
Miranda Knott made one free throw with 10 seconds left to close out the game for the Saints.
Dickens led all scorers with 21 points, while Knott, Lacey and Kiki Laux each scored 10 points for Marymount.
Albright will face the loser of the Delaware Valley/Lehman game at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the consolation game.
