Watkins named to Betty Abgott All-Tournament Team

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's basketball was defeated Sunday 62-49 by the Hamilton College Continentals in the consolation game of the Betty Abgott Invitational, which was held at Buffalo State University.

Jaclyn Watkins paced the Tomcats Sunday with 14 points while also securing six rebounds. Watkins was named to the Betty Abgott All-Tournament Team after she scored 33 points and recorded 14 rebounds during the 2-day event. 

Also for the Tomcats, freshman forward Taylor Duchon scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds Sunday while junior point guard Kayla Welty led the Tomcats with nine rebounds.

Sam Graber notched a double-double for the Continentals with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Serena Ward came off the bench to score 11 points. 

The Tomcats (0-2) will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on Penn State Behrend at 6 p.m.
