FOREST GROVE – Pacific's seniors led the way in their final home game Friday night as the Boxers came back from a seven-point halftime deficit to beat Linfield 74-73 in Northwest Conference women's basketball action at the Stoller Center.
 
Kati Sheldon (Sr., Paso Robles, Calif.) posted a career night in final home game, leading the Boxers with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Boxers had four players finish scoring in double figures.  Sarah Curl (Fr., Portland, Ore.) added 15 points and Alex Pfefferle (Sr., Twin Falls, Idaho) closed her home schedule with 13 points.  Olivia Cook (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) posted her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
In the process, the Boxers (8-15, 4-11 NWC) posted one of their best scoring performances of the season, shooting 49.1 percent from the field (28-57), 35.7 percent from three-point range and 86.7 percent from free throw line.
 
Kaely Maltman led a spirited Linfield effort, finishing with 23 points on 10 of 16 from the field.  Riley Graham added 19 points and Taylor Solomon scored 15.  The Wildcats (8-16, 4-11 NWC) finished the night shooting 42.3 percent from the field (30-71), but shot just 23.5 percent from three-point range and 60 percent from the charity stripe.
 
The teams kept things close for much of the first half, with neither team building more than a four-point lead over the first 14 minutes of the period.  The game was tied at 21-21 with 5:30 left when Maltman's free throw started 15-8 run that closed out the half.  Solomon closed out the run with her free throw with 1:53 left, which gave the Wildcats a 36-29 lead.
 
It took little time for Pacific to erase the Linfield advantage in the second half, with Sheldon's jumper at the 17:14 mark tied the contest at 38-38.  The game would be tied four more times over the next 10 minutes before the Boxers took the lead for good when Curl's three-pointer made it a 62-59 Pacific lead.
 
Curl would hit another jumper with 1:52 left that gave Pacific their biggest lead of the game, 72-66, with 1:52 to go.  Linfield proceeded to score the next five points, coming within one when Solomon's lay-up made it 72-71 with 23 seconds left.  Pfefferle made two critical free throws with 15 seconds, which meant the difference between a win and a loss as Graham hit a long jumper at time expired.
