Maitland, FL - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team lost 68-42 to Eastern University in the consolation game of the D3 Basketball Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Becky Bard scored 10 points and registered three apiece of assists and steals to lead the Mounties, and was named to the all-tournament team following the conclusion of the tournament. Abbie Zinobile also finished in double figures with 11 points, and Jamie Snedden had a team-high seven rebounds.

A back-and-forth first half ended with Eastern holding a five-point lead after the Mount's Lindsy Sammarco (nine points) hit a jumper with the clock running down to end the half. 

After holding a 42-36 advantage in the beginning stages of the second half, Eastern went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to take control on their way to the win.

Mount Aloysius will return to action after the New Year for a conference game on January 4th at Medaille College.
