The Terriers and Moose battled back and forth in the first half, neither letting the other side pull away with the lead. The Terriers held the biggest lead of the half of six points. Thomas jumped out to an early 4-0 lead with layups made by Lexi Merrifield and Emilee Reynolds. The Terriers would go on to take a 32-28 lead into the opening stanza. There were seven lead changes and two ties in the half.
Elizabeth Goodall would lead the way for the Terriers in the opening period, netting 10 points and grabbing three rebounds. Ashleigh Gagne netted eight points for Thomas in the first half, along with grabbing three rebounds and dishing out three assists. UMA was led by the Jennifer Lola, who scored 15 points and had three rebounds. Jamie Plummer led UMA in rebounds, grabbing 10.
Thomas continued to lead for most of the second half until the Moose saw their first lead since 15:53 in the first half when Arreonte Lee dribbled through the paint for a layup. The teams continued to go end to end until UMA took the lead for good with 5:25 left in the game.
Lola ended with a game-high 24 points for the Moose, while Plummer chipped in with 20 points and a game-leading 23 boards. For Thomas, Goodall was tied with Gagne and Merrifield with a team-high 13 points.
The Terriers will be back in action on Friday, November 22 when they travel to cross-town rival Colby College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
