Bearcats Claw Past Cougars of Medgar Evers

The Baruch College Bearcats recorded a 72-37 conference win at Medgar Evers College on Tuesday night in Brooklyn, New York.

With the result, the Bearcats improve to 16-7 overall and 12-3 in the CUNYAC.

The Cougars started the game with a 3-pointer, but the Bearcats had little trouble the rest of the game with 12 of the 14 players scoring for a runaway victory.

Ashika Kuruvilla recorded her first double-double with a career-high 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Veronica Ganzi and Lynda Fields finished with 11 points each.

Nia Tompkins led the Cougars with 16 points, six rebounds and two steals.

The women's basketball team will finish the CUNYAC portion of their schedule on Friday, February 14, with a 5:30 pm home contest against the Beavers of CCNY.

Prior to the game, the team will honor senior Kiara Johnson.
