HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Alison Zimny's running jumper with one second remaining on the clock delivered a 60-58 victory for Immaculata over the Centenary College women's basketball team on Senior Night Thursday at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.

The Cyclones (7-13, 5-6 CSAC) had fought back from a 16-point deficit and led by as many as seven during the second half. Freshman forward Kelsey Barofski's (White Township, N.J./Belvidere) free throw with 55 ticks left knotted the score at 58 prior to Zimny's heroics.

Immaculata shot 47 percent during the first 20 minutes, jumping out to a 36-24 halftime lead.

The Mighty Macs led 21-8 following Marissa Kinsey's second three-pointer of the half at the 9:26 mark, but a 10-2 run, spurred by five-straight points from freshman guard Jessie Sharr (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere), brought Centenary within 23-18.

Sara Smith's long jumper halted the Cyclones' momentum and started an 11-0 surge for IU over the next two minutes. Sharr's driving layup just before the half cut the deficit to 12.

Led by freshman forward Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston), the Cyclones stormed back into the game. George scored eight points during a 10-2 Centenary spurt to open the second half.

Junior Kimberly Osieja (Mountainside, N.J./Governor Livingston) gave the Cyclones their first lead by canning a jumper at the 10:47 mark as part of an 11-0 run that made the score 45-40 in favor of the Cyclones.

A pair of George layups four minutes later gave the Cyclones their largest edge at seven points.

Back-to-back fast-break buckets from Adriana Sciascia brought the Mighty Macs back to within two and Smith buried a jumper with 2:08 to play, tying the score at 55.

Barofski sank a layup to help Centenary regain the lead; however, Zimny buried a triple on the Mighty Macs' next possession and Immaculata grabbed a 58-57 edge.

A Centenary three-point attempt fell off the rim, but Barofski grabbed the rebound and was fouled. She made the first and Sharr pulled down the rebound after the second free throw was missed.

The Cyclones turned the ball over during their final possession, allowing Immaculata one final chance with 12 seconds remaining. Zimny drove left and pulled up, canning the game-winning bucket just before the buzzer.

George led all scorers with 21 points, while Barofski, Sharr and senior guard Klarissa Perry (Englewood, N.J./Dwight Morrow) all added 11. Perry grabbed eight rebounds and senior point guard Nicole Collins (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) dished out five assists.

The Cyclones made 45 percent (27-59) of their shots, while IU connected on 40 percent of its attempts from the field and held a 38-33 edge on the glass.

Sciascia paced the Mighty Macs with 18 points and Zimny added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Centenary closes out the home portion of its schedule Saturday against Notre Dame (Md.) at 2:00 pm.
