Wisconsin Lutheran College shot 57.1% in outscoring the Lakeland College women's basketball team by 19 points in the second half, defeating the Muskies 58-43 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game.

Lakeland held a 23-19 halftime lead, but the Warriors came back to outscore the visiting Muskies 39-20 in the second half. WLC swept the season series between the two teams and remained tied for the top spot in the NACC standings at 10-1 (12-3 overall), while Lakeland dropped to 6-11 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

The Muskies were able to hold back Wisconsin Lutheran for a time, but cold shooting and a rebounding disadvantage eventually caught up. Lakeland shot 34.0% for the game (17 of 50) and was outrebounded 43-27.

WLC took advantage of its size inside, in particular 6-foot-2 center Kristen Schulz, who scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds. Schulz picked up 16 points and seven boards alone in the second half, helping the Warriors hit 16 of 28 shots in the final 20 minutes.

The Muskies led at halftime after committing just six turnovers, and Lakeland and still held a 30-26 lead with 16:00 left in the game after Vashia Gordon (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis.) converted a three-point play.

The Warriors went on a 12-0 run over the next 3 1/2 minutes to turn the tide, though. A pair of three-pointers capped the rush, including one by Melissa Klemm making it 38-30.

Lakeland never got closer than four the rest of the way, and after Gordon's jumper made it 42-38 with 9:35 left, the Muskies scored just five points the rest of the game.

Wisconsin Lutheran recovered after a 9-for-24 performance in the first half (37.5%). The Warriors also committed 13 turnovers in the first 20 minutes but just five in the second half.

Leah Eisner (Sr.-Stevens Point, Wis.) led Lakeland with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots, pacing the team in all three categories. Gordon added 11 points, but no other player scored more than five.

Lakeland is back home for its next game Saturday against Rockford (Ill.) University at 4:15 p.m. at the Woltzen Gymnasium.
