HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Four Cyclones scored in double figures to lead the Centenary College women's basketball team to a 63-49 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over Marywood on Wednesday night at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.

Freshman forward Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting and added a game-best 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double. Classmate Jessie Sharr (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) tallied 12 points, while senior Klarissa Perry (Englewood, N.J./Dwight Morrow) scored 11 and sophomore Ally Fugnitti (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) netted 10. Perry and Sharr both pulled down nine boards.

After George scored the game's first four points, the Pacers (12-6, 7-3 CSAC) answered with four straight; however, that would be the only tie score during the game as Centenary netted the next six points to take a 10-4 lead.

A pair of free throws from George pushed the Cyclones' edge to 11 at the 13:10 mark. Five minutes later, Kimmy Green's three-point play sliced the Pacers' deficit to nine, but Fugnitti answered with a triple and Centenary's lead would not dip below 10 for the remainder of the half.

The Cyclones used an 8-0 spurt during a three-minute stretch early in the second half, with the final four points coming from Sharr, as the lead ballooned to 17.

Marywood held CC scoreless over the next five minutes to close within 11, but another quick 6-0 surge aided by Perry's pair of baskets, brought the score to 54-37. The Pacers would not threaten during the remainder of the game.

Centenary shot 35.8 percent (24-67) from the field, while limiting Marywood to 23 percent (15-64) shooting and held a 55-45 edge on the glass. 21 of the Cyclones boards came on the offensive end, leading to 20 second-chance points. Centenary forced 20 turnovers, including four steals from Fugnitti.

Nora Joyce made all six of her free throw attempts and led Marywood with 11 points, while Brittany Mang pulled in eight rebounds.

Centenary hits the road on Saturday when it faces Gwynedd Mercy at 2:00 pm. The Griffins defeated the Cyclones 65-55 in New Jersey earlier this season.
