Women's Basketball Topped By Medaille

The Middlebury women's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 64-38 road loss at Medaille. The Panthers return to action on January 7th when they host Plattsburgh at 5:30.

Middlebury led 7-4 early on a jumper from Siobhan O'Sullivan with 16:50 left in the first half. Medaille answered with a 12-0 run, taking a 16-7 advantage at the 13:26 mark of the first half. A three from Joelle Pollak late in the half sent Medaille into the break with a 35-20 lead.

The Mavericks went on a decisive run beginning at the 18:38 mark of the second half. Medaille scored 17 of the game's next 19 points, holding a game-high 30-point advantage at 54-24 with 10:58 left on the clock.

The Panthers came within 19, but that's as close as they'd get as Medaille picked up the win.

Laura Lowry led Middlebury with 11 points, while Scarlett Kirk scored nine with five rebounds. Brittnee Perry led all scorers and rebounders with 19 and 13 respectively. Pollak added 15 points, while Tara Caples had eight with seven boards.
