HARRISONBURG, Va. – The productive Randolph-Macon offense was halted this evening as Eastern Mennonite kept the Jackets to a season low as they were topped 82-63 in ODAC women's basketball action.
The Yellow Jackets (13-5, 6-3 ODAC) fell behind early, trailing 30-44 at the half shooting 38% from the field. After a 10-2 run to start the second period, EMU (14-4, 8-1 ODAC) kept the lead for the remainder of the contest; leading by no less than 10 points in the half. The Jackets were outshot by 13%.
The R-MC offense was led by Taylor Huber (Ashland, VA / Patrick Henry) who recorded 14 points, three rebounds, and one steal. Freshman forward Stephanie Staples (Mechanicsville, VA / Atlee) added 12 points off the bench shooting 6-10 from the field with seven boards, two steals, and an assist alongside fellow freshman Marisha Berry (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) who had a team-high nine rebounds. Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) finished the night with 10 points.
The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team returns to Ashland Saturday, February 1st for their 25th annual Back to the Hive reunion and will host Lynchburg College at 2:00 PM in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
