LeTourneau senior Alexis Wighaman scored a career-high 15 points for the second-straight game in a 75-69 loss to the University of Texas-Tyler on Tuesday night at the Herrington Patriot Center.

With the game tied at 55 and 6:48 to play, a three-point play by the Patriots' Taylor Murphy put the home team up for the rest of the contest. The YellowJackets managed to cut the deficit to one on a pair of occasions but could not complete the comeback for the win.

In the win, University of Texas-Tyler senior post She'Cara Humphrey scored a career-high 35 points on the strength of an 11-for-21 effort from the field and a 13-for-17 performance at the free-throw line. She was joined in double digits by Teylor Seals, who added 13. With the win, the Patriots remain in front of the ASC with a 5-0 conference mark and 7-1 overall record.

The loss drops the YellowJackets to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the ASC.  Wighaman was joined in double figures by senior Ashley Fajardo, who added 11. Despite the loss, LeTourneau freshman guards Ashley Reed and Bria Goodman (pictured) each scored a career-best 7 points. Defensively, LETU held the Patriots to 31.5% percent shooting from the field. Plus, the bench outscored their counterparts by a 27 to 17 margin.

The game was tight for most of the 40 minutes as the game featured seven tied scores and seven more lead changes. LeTourneau held its last lead when freshmanMeagan Peters scored on a layup with 16:36 to put the visitors from Longview up, 36-35 with 16:35 to play.

However, the Patriots and Humphrey had an answer scored the next four points to regain an advantage that only would see the YellowJacket tie the score on three occasions.

Next, the YellowJackets will close out the 2013 portion of its schedule on Thursday, Dec. 19 with a 5:30 p.m. tilt in Clarksville, Arkansas as they face Ozarks.
