Savage leads rally, but Albion falls short in OT

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – First-year guard Olivia Savage scored five of her career-high 14 points in the final 7 ½ minutes of regulation as Albion College erased a 13-point deficit only to fall to Saint Mary's College, 67-64, in overtime.

Savage's 3-point basket ignited Albion's 19-6 run as Albion forged a 55-55 tie at the end of regulation. Emily DeWaters produced the tying layup with five seconds to play.

Saint Mary's scored the first eight points in overtime. Eleni Shea tacked on an old-fashioned 3-point play and would later make a free throw, Ariana Paul scored in the lane, and Maddie Kohler knocked down a pair of free throws.

Brett de Bear led Albion with 17 points. The senior scored on 6-of-14 shots from the field.

Mikaela Bromley and DeWaters pulled down 11 rebounds apiece.

Paul finished with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds for Saint Mary's. Shanlynn Bias added 19 points and Kohler finished with 14 points.
