LA CROSSE (January 15, 2014) - UW-Stout trailed by nine at halftime, pulled to within a tie with eight minutes left, then went stone cold and fell UW-La Crosse, Wednesday at Mitchell Hall.

Stout (6-10, 2-5 WIAC) fought from behind all night and made their move at the 13:27 mark of the second half when trailing 34-23. Stout went on a 17-6 run to tie the score at 40-40 with 7:57 left on the clock. But Stout missed their final 11 shots from the field, scoring only five free throws the rest of the way.

The Eagles (8-7, 2-4 WIAC) went on an 8-1 run and let the lead slip to four points only once.

The Eagles, who led 28-19 at halftime, had three players in double figures. Jenna Anderson led all scorers with 15 points. Rachel Atchison added 11 points and Maggi Bishop 10. Erin Levenhagen cleared 13 rebounds.

Stout led the way off the glass, outrebounding the Eagles, 57-45. But the Blue Devils had trouble putting the ball in the bucket, shooting 21.7 percent (15-69) from the field and 0-for-15 from beyond the arc. The Eagles shot 38 percent (19-50) and hit 5-12 3-pointers.

The Blue Devils played with foul trouble. Two Stout players fouled out and three finished the game with four fouls.
