Hartford, Conn. – Junior forward Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) notched 14 points, a game-high 14 rebounds, and three steals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 55-41 win over the visiting Hamilton College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this afternoon on Stanley Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in NESCAC play, while Hamilton falls to 6-7 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Trinity, which never trailed, went ahead, 14-9, midway through the first half on back-to-back buckets by Brickley, and a put-back by senior forward Shantel Hanniford (Nantucket, Mass.) in the final seconds gave the Bantams the largest lead of the first half, 32-24, heading into the break.  Sophomore center Mackenzie Griffin (Stamford, Conn.) paced Trinity at halftime with eight points, while Brickley already had 10 boards to go with six points.  The Bantams held a 26-17 edge on the boards after 20 minutes, and the teams combined to shoot 15-for-55 from the field (27.2%) and 3-for-15 (20%) from long range but 23-for-26 from the foul line (88.5%).  Hamilton sophomore captain Samantha Graber (Roseland, N.J.) led all scorers at intermission with 11 points.

Trinity continued to build its lead, going ahead by double digits on a layup by Hanniford, 43-33, with under 10 minutes left to play, and keeping at least a 10-point cushion the rest of the way.  The shooting woes continued for both teams in the second half, as Trinity shot 8-for-28 from the field and missed all five of its three-point attempts and Hamilton was 6-for-26 from the floor and 2-for-11 from behind the arc after halftime.  Trinity finished with a 47-35 edge on the glass.  Griffin scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, while senior guard Moriah Sweeney (Ramsey, N.J.) contributed five points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots, and sophomore guard Alexa Menard (Wallingford, Conn.) added four assists.  Graber had a game-high 16 points with five rebounds, while senior Dani Feigin (Scarsdale, N.Y.) totaled 13 points and four assists, and senior captain forward Olivia Pimm (Chelmsford, Mass.) grabbed eight a team-high eight boards for the Continentals.
