BRIDGEWATER, Va.—The Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball team advanced to 7-0, 2-0 ODAC following their 99-81 triumph over Bridgewater College this evening. The Jackets improved to second in the conference following their victory. Earlier this week the ladies climbed the USA TODAY Sports Division III Top 25 Coach's Poll as they were named 20th in the country.
Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) led the R-MC offense with 19 points and 12 boards. The game marks her fourth consecutive double-double. The sophomore also tallied 4 steals and 1 block. Juniors Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) and Taylor Huber (Ashland, VA / Patrick Henry) both recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds on the night. Huber had a game-high 7 assists with a pair of steals.
The Jackets outshot the Eagles (2-3, 1-1 ODAC) in all shooting categories. The contest included 5 ties and 6 lead changes with the Yellow Jackets ahead by as much as 24 points.
Randolph-Macon travels to Virginia Union University Thursday, December 5th for a 7:00 PM matchup. The Jackets return to Ashland, VA Saturday, December 7th as they host Hollins for a 2:00 PM tip-off.
